My first time fishing!

Deepdale Duck agreed to take me fishing, I had never been fishing before in my life.
We met on the rocks near the San Jorge Hotel in Caleta at 6pm on a cloudy and windy August evening. After following DD to a suitable area of rock, he showed me how to put the bait on the hook and then, basically, how to fish :?
After overcoming my initial fear of falling off the rocks and into the sea, I got the hang of it. Unfortunately, the wind was getting stronger and the waves were getting bigger all the time. DD went to find a 'better spot' to improve my chances of catching my supper
. This 'better spot' was also very windy but a bit more sheltered.
We set up again, and I thought I was getting the hang of it. I hadn't caught any fish but I was enjoying myself. Two lost floats later, I decided to finish for the day. We had been fishing for two hours and the weather conditions were unpleasant.
DD caught 2 fish in the 2 hours and was quite wet. Firstly, from standing on his ‘dry rock’ and secondly, from climbing down to untangle my line and try to retrieve the lost floats.
The following Sunday afternoon, after a morning of “Mummy” this and “Mummy” that, I announced that I was going fishing :roll: . “But you haven’t got a fishing rod, Mummy” said Jonathan. I didn’t go fishing, but I think that at that moment I understood what fishing is all about.
I really enjoyed my first fishing experience and it didn’t matter that I went home without catching my supper.
My birthday isn’t until November, but I have put a fishing rod on my wish list. :lol:
